Meet the Camp Kaos Team

These are the friendly, welcoming instructors and team members who make Camp Kaos happen.

  • Dr. Rosie Busch, DVM

Dr. Busch is the lead Camp Kaos instructor, a star of the Sheep Stuff Ewe Should Know podcast, and Assistant Specialist in Cooperative Extension for Sheep and Goat Herd Health & Production at UC Davis. Dr. Busch joined the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Extension team in the Fall of 2019. She connects California veterinarians, farmers and ranchers to evidence-based resources that are reliable and practical, and Camp Kaos could not exist without Dr. Busch and the help of her graduate and undergraduate interns.

  • Robert Irwin, Kaos Sheep Outfit

Robert Irwin is a lead Camp Kaos instructor and third-generation shepherd, wool producer, sheep shearer and co-founder of Kaos Sheep Outfit, which provides targeted grazing services in Northern California, Oregon, and beyond. He is passionate about welcoming newcomers into the world of regenerative agriculture and sheep husbandry, and helping others to learn from his mistakes and experiences – which he generously shares at Camp Kaos classes.

  • Jaime Irwin, Kaos Sheep Outfit

Jaime Irwin is a co-founder of Kaos Sheep Outfit which provides targeted grazing services in Northern California, Oregon, and beyond. Jaime is a first-generation shepherd and targeted grazier who loves to share her hard-earned expertise in growing and running a business, training and managing employees, herding and livestock guardian dogs, and raising a family with sheep on the move in myriad locations.

  • Stephany Wilkes, Program Manager

Stephany is a co-founder of Camp Kaos, author, and professional sheep shearer and hoof trimmer. She came to sheep care through shearing, where she saw many sheep in poor condition, not out of malice but lack of knowledge. She is passionate about providing others with the sheep health and husbandry education she could not find, and is the Camp Kaos grantwriter, event organizer, resident camp mom and admin of many things.

  • Maxine Lamperti

Maxine Lamperti is a Camp Kaos board member. She and her husband, Tony Lamperti, steward and generously share the Lamperti Ranch land and infrastructure with Camp Kaos, which makes a great deal of hands-on education possible.

  • Shelia Brumley-Rios

Shelia is the  instructor for Camp Kaos herding dog classes, and is an open handler who competes across the northwest U.S. in USBCHA and RESDA trials. Shelia has trained horses for 50 years and Border Collies for 12 years. She is also the artist and potter who – together with her daughter, Zona – creates our beloved mugs. You can find her beautiful, local, functional pottery creations at Spruce Grove Mud.
